4 WAYS TO REDUCE WRINKLES

Wrinkles often feel like an inevitability that you can do little to combat. For many, even the thought of reducing wrinkles just feels too overwhelming to try and do. However, in addition to sticking to a daily routine of care for your skin, there are ways you can significantly reduce wrinkles with only patience and little effort.

Here are four ways to reduce wrinkles through safe and non-invasive means that can deliver immediate results and leave you feeling revitalized.

1. Botox Injections

Botox can come across as intimidating, what with the needles and rumors of botched attempts at face lifts. Yet, botox treatments are really nothing to be frightened of — incorporating small needles and numbing skin creams to where there is little to no pain. Botox injections are ideal for forehead lines between the eyebrows, frown lines and crow’s feet around the eyes. Botox temporarily eases muscle tension in those affected areas, softening the fine lines that have developed over time.

Additionally, botox results are typically noticeable within three to five days, serving as a perfect quick, non-surgical option to boost your skin.

2. Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion sounds complex, but it is, in fact, an advanced type of exfoliation treatment that leaves you feeling rejuvenated by buffing away dead skin cells to reveal a clean layer of healthy skin beneath. Microdermabrasion uses tiny grains to polish your skin, improve your skin texture, clear acne, reduce pore size, minimize sun damage and speed up your skin cell renewal process. The process only takes around 20 minutes, and you get even more benefits by pairing a microdermabrasion with a facial or chemical peel, or by following a skin care routine to maintain the results.

Just be careful when going out on a sunny day after a microdermabrasion, as your skin will be sensitive and more vulnerable to damage for up to two weeks.

3. Dermal Fillers

Although botox is the most well-known option, there are other dermal fillers you can consider as well to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Radiesse, Juvéderm and Perlane are all excellent dermal fillers that soften fine lines around the mouth and nose, volumize cheeks and tighten the neck to do away with that awful double-chin look.

Again, just like botox, dermal fillers are non-surgical and can be performed quickly, and some dermal fillers do not require retreatment. It is best to plan a dermal filler procedure appropriately, though, as there may be minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites.

4. Chemical Peels

Similar to microdermabrasion, chemical peels sound intimidating, maybe even a little painful. Never fear, though — chemical peels simply and painlessly peel away your top layer of wrinkled, damaged, or blemished skin to allow the growth of healthy, new skin. There are also several varieties of chemical peels, meaning you can pick and choose what kind of treatment would be best for your skin. After one chemical peel, you can expect to see immediate results: minimized acne and acne scarring, improved cellular renewal and collagen growth, faded brown spots and discoloration and, of course, reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

There may be some increased redness and sun sensitivity afterwards, but this just means chemical peels are best in the fall and winter months, maybe as an invigorating holiday gift to yourself.
