5 Ways to Pamper Your Skin After a Long Week

5 Ways to Pamper Your Skin After a Long Week

Whether you spend your days wrangling kiddos or making moves at a Fortune 500 company, everyone has “those weeks.” All of that stress settles in your shoulders and shows up on your face, making you look haggard

You and your skin need a vacation — but you don’t have to go very far to get it.

Dr. Divina Averilla and our team at Love Your Body Medical Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada, specialize in skin care, and we know how to help you wash off a tough week and get ready for the next with a fresh face.

Here are a few ways to pamper your skin at home and in our office.

1. Plan ahead

If you know you’re about to go through a weekday wringer or you want to get professional pampering, consider planning a weekend wind down with us. We’re open Fridays and Saturdays and offer a comprehensive lineup of services that pamper your skin and address any concerns you might have.

Some of our most popular services include:

We can help you decide which treatment or treatments are best for you based on your unique needs.

2. Cleanse, treat, moisturize

If you only have time for an at-home spa day, remember the three pillars of skin care: cleanse, treat, and moisturize. Find a gentle cleanser or use micellar water to carefully rinse off the literal and metaphorical grime of the week.

Follow that with a good toner and any products that treat your skin concerns like dark spots, wrinkles, and acne.

We recommend skin care products packed with skin-friendly ingredients, like vitamin C, retinol, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. If you’re not sure where to start, talk to Dr. Averilla. She knows your skin type and can point you in the right direction.

You can also use this time to give yourself a face massage. Just make sure your hands are clean before you get started.

3. Soak and scrub

Few things are better than a bath at the end of the long week — and your skin loves it, too. Draw yourself a warm (not hot) bath and add in salts, essential oils, and even oatmeal to give your skin a silky-smooth feel all over. Try an exfoliating scrub to round out your at-home spa and slough off dead, dry skin.

4. Create an ambiance

This may have nothing to do with skin care, but we think it’s an essential part of the process. Create a relaxing space by turning on soothing sounds, lighting your favorite candle, and dimming the lights. You’ll find it helps you relieve even more stress, which is very good news for your skin.

5. Hydrate and eat right

At this point, your skin feels fresh and clean, but it doesn’t stop there. Take the weekend to reset your whole body by hydrating and eating a balanced diet. Both restore your mood, support your overall health, and keep your skin looking and feeling beautiful.
